Took me about 8 hours building the crack, plus another few hours with the woodwork. Seriously, no experience necessary so long as you can follow instructions and are patient. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to get hands dirty and have fun for a few hours. Prior to the burning in, there was a weird hiss that I troubleshooted but could not solve. Having burned in the amp, the pitch black noise background that everyone seems to be raving about has appeared. (Which is a great resource for builders of Bottlehead kits, btw.) I did have to troubleshoot a few minor issues but they were quickly resolved after getting help on Bottlehead's forum. I had no previous soldering experience other than the few lessons during middle school and I had no problem with either the stock build or the Speedball.

Whereas the stock Crack sounded very tubey and warm, the Speedball is very sharp, clear and "tight." The sound is just addictive. I am pairing it with the HD600 and it sounds absolutely stunning!
